Is the coding for the forum you are working on?

the forum part of 30 Day Challenges has been on the backburner for quite a while. I've been re-coding my services site (the one which brings me money :p) as well as different iterations of the same thing (multiple domains) :)

Me too...I went to bed early and actually got up early, lol...feels weird :P

For some odd reason I woke up feeling refreshed! I usually am still tired when I wake up.

Coding a forum, eh? I considered doing that for Postloop...after thinking about it some more, changed my mind, hah. Maybe some other day. That's a big undertaking.

It's pretty simple, I've coded a basic forum before with procedural PHP. Cake will simply make it a lot easier, I have to link posts by tid, threads by fid, and cakes findAllByXXX function will help lots. I had a basic prototype working in cake but threw it out, one of those things where a fundamental flaw is found and I gave up :p

Also, No need to code a user/profile system, they already exist, I REALLY just need to code the forums/threads/posts relations/models.

I've done customer service before, lol. Not on a public forum, usually by email, half of the time you need a translator, dictionary and thesaurus to figure out what the customer/client wants from you. What I noticed whilst catching up on posts here is my pet hates, though, you don't have a name, you're just "admin" and most of the problems are simply caused by not reading or searching.. :)

If I've learned anything since taking over vBSkinworks/ForumFlux and now Postloop, it is that as soon as I think that I've met a one of a kind individual, there is always tomorrow. The way that some people think, operate, and act on the internet blows my mind.

Had to split it into 2 comments cos of a 420char visitor message limit.

it can be viewed as bittersweet I guess. It's good on the one hand cos I'm getting posts. It's bad on the other hand because I don't have time to reply to them all, and it eats more points when you're at the top. I guess my forums are just nice to post on? Who knows :)
