Every other day, we see something new in the field of technology. It is not possible to guess which new gadget will become the next coolest thing for the youth. Also, it is hard to guess which new website will grow to be a new leading social media platform. The advent of smartphones, technologies like 4G-LTE, artificial intelligence (AI), online banking and other such services are already making the lives of people easier than ever. Here, we will discuss five new technologies that are already making the headlines in 2018:

    Artificial Intelligence

The AI is one of the few technologies that are exciting the people in 2018. Google Home was released in 2016 and now it is gaining more popularity among the fans of latest technologies. Nowadays, people prefer to use intelligent personal assistants like Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri to carry out simple tasks like checking the time, setting the appointments etc. The technology giants are also working to integrate these services into the devices we use in our everyday routine. For example, we can now use Google Home to adjust the temperature of our room or turn off the lights. It is just the beginning. In the coming months, AI technology will attract more and more people.

    Self-Driving Cars

The self-driving cars will be commonly running on the roads by 2022, according to the technology analysts. Tech companies including Google, Apple, Intel and many others are working for the development of this technology. The automotive manufacturers are also working hard to make the dream of autonomous cars come true. A human error is mostly the cause of most of the road accidents. But, with the introduction of autonomous cars, the number of road accidents will decrease, the experts say. The reason is obvious: a computer does not consume alcohol, talk to friends, or do other such things.

    Foldable Smartphones

The companies like LG, Samsung, OPPO, and ZTE are working on foldable smartphones. It is very likely that this new kind of smartphones will attract a lot of users. Samsung has already said that its foldable phones will hit the market this year. The company has been working on this technology for the past few years. For some people, it will be uncomfortable to use a bendable smartphone. But for many, these phones will offer cool things like better display, extra screen size, and not having to worry about the screens getting cracked.

    OLED TV

The new OLED TVs promise better gaming experience. The user enjoys extra high-definition colors while watching a movie on an OLED screen. These kinds of TVs are making the headlines in the year 2018. In the next few years, a number of leading companies are expected to introduce their OLED TVs in the market. Let's see where this technology takes us in the future.

    5G

The reports suggest that the 5G (fifth generation of mobile technologies) networks will become a reality this year. Many telecommunication companies are already reportedly testing this service in many parts of the world. 5G will offer 10Gbps speed, according to the experts. The technology will use low power and allow many users to connect to a single device at the same time. But, the cost of using 5G service will be higher than that of the 4G-LTE service. We have to wait to see how this technology will change our way of communication.

You forgot about Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrencies, these will undoubtedly become more important.
They have the potential to change many industries and new applications will be built using them.

Everybody should pay attention and learn as much as they can so that they can be informed of the upcoming changes.

It is amazing to hear that we will again jump to new technology as mention in above post.
I agree with this technology as it all done for the benefit of the humankind. But we still need to
remember to try to maximize the use of our present technology so that we can prevent the scarcity
of the materials that we used building it. Everyone should take responsibility for all the effect that
it can bring whether it is good or bad.

Google must be working really hard on its own self-driving technology. Whenever I see a recaptcha on a site the images you have to click are almost always relating to machine learning for identifying what's a car, traffic light or whatever. Sometimes I even see ones for statues and hills, so Google's obviously making a huge investment in machine learning/AI.
