In the past decade or so, phones have not really innovated the tech world in a effective way like they used to.
Phones are just getting faster and better at doing the same simple tasks while also integrating better connectivity to the internet by interlacing things on emails, accounts, servers, etc.
What do you think about this guys?

Well, they have innovated the tech world, that is what better and faster does but there's only so much that can be squeezed into a small device.

Go back 10 years or so... did we have WhatsApp then? The feature everyone is using to communicate simple things with? We did not, at least not in big numbers of people. Same goes for other features on the smartphone. It is not only technology becoming better and faster, it's a whole lot more! Right now no one wants to do away with their smartphone, I am not so sure how that was 10 years ago.
What I do agree with is the fact that the smartphone in itself was a huge innovation. Like the word processor was for the typewriter's decades, and the computer for the word processors. Or color tv for black/white tv sets...
