Scaling it Back

Several years ago my husband and I decided to scale back the expense of our television watching. We live in a rural area and only have 2 local stations, but we took a risk and dropped our DirectTV. We then connected a Roku box and now only watch Netflix or Hulu.

The savings after doing this was considerable and although it took some getting used to, we rarely find ourselves without something to watch. I think our biggest struggle has been finding the sporting events that my husband enjoys watching when they are on. Other than that issue, it was a good decision.

What ways have you saved with your television decisions?
