When I was first starting out as a freelance writer, I took up a few ghostwriting assignments with the hope of building my portfolio. Out of those assignments, one article went viral and I ended up feeling duped because being new to the game, I felt uncomfortable saying no to my client's request so I pretty much wrote the entire article from scratch with no input from her and she slapped her own name on it and passed it off as her own.

Of course, I learned from that experience but then I had another client ask me to be a ghostwriter for a project that made me uncomfortable. I declined that one, but I was wondering if anyone else here had any experience with ghostwriting where they felt like there was an ethical breach or that they had to make an ethical compromise to complete the assignment. If so, how did you handle the situation?
